Verona is one of the most fascinating cities in Italy with his medieval, gothis and renaissance art, his beautiful churches, the roman Arena and the banks of the Adige River. It was a city of the Gauls and the Romans and the capital of the Ostrogoth. After that it passed under the domination of the Scaligers (1206-1387) and finally became part of the Republic of Venice.
Verona is bound forewer to the love story of Romeo and Juliet and the Opera performed in the beautiful Arena.
The Arena is of the 1st century and ist the most imposing Roman construction after the Colosseum in Rom. During the summer it's used for opera performance and can hold 22.000 spectators.
